Each year the American Staffing Association (ASA) dedicates one week to staffing employees across the nation. This week, September 14-21, we celebrate the contributions of our contract and temporary staff. Temporary and contract employees are an essential part of the U.S. workforce. During the course of a year, American staffing agencies hire nearly 17 million temporary and contract employees! We are proud to celebrate and honor these extraordinary individuals who actively contribute to the growth of our local and nation’s economy. There are simply not enough ways to say, “Thank You!” to our employees for their hard work and dedication.
Today we want to recognize a few outstanding #StaffingStars who have gone above and beyond. These individuals have been awarded as Aventure Staffing’s Employees of the Year!
Sioux City Industrial – Darwin “Dar” Soloman
With the exception of a 2 month period, Dar has been working part-time steadily through Aventure at one of our client’s since March of 2005. Dar’s supervisor recently said “…he has been a fixture in our business since before he started 15 years ago and he is amazing! Dar looks forward to getting up each day and seeing what needs to be done. He’s been known to fix just about any problem and does it with a great attitude.”
Sioux City Office – Marcia Mayo
Marcia started working on assignment for a client on August 16, 2019. It has been a pleasure working with her. She is friendly, professional, and quick to respond to me whenever I have a question for her. I want to applaud her determination and commitment to excellence. Loyal and dedicated employees like Marcia are the foundation to successful companies.
Tony M., Marcia’s supervisor, was very excited when I called and asked him if he would like to share any feedback on Marcia’s performance. He stated, “Marcia has been an absolute dream to work with. She goes above and beyond expectations, takes on new projects, and has very little oversight. Marcia is an excellent employee and we enjoy working with her.”

Cherokee, IA – Victor Nichols
We wanted to honor Victor’s great work and reliability with this astounding award for our Cherokee branch. Our client employer, Lopez Foods, was elated we have selected Victor for our Employee of the Year and had some pretty great things to say about him! Victor’s supervisor at Lopez Foods said, “Victor is a wonderful employee! He is reliable and dedicated to doing the best job possible for us. He has come in after hours/weekends to accommodate receiving loads of product when necessary and has done a wonderful job of learning our system and processes. He was promoted into the position of Lead in August 2020 and if his past/current performance is any indicator, he has a great future ahead of him at Lopez Foods. “

Humboldt, IA – Renee Richardson
Renee Richardson has been working with Aventure Staffing at our client employer, Corteva Agriscience, since November of 2019. While on assignment, she has had excellent attendance, exhibited strong adherence to all safety requirements. Above all, Renee has great performance and work ethic! She has consistently demonstrated great flexibility and a willingness to do what it is needed to get the job done. Renee is extremely pleasant to work with and we love being able to call her an Aventure employee! Congratulations on your achievement as Humboldt’s 2020 Employee of the Year!

Healthcare Division – Jessica Vargas, CNA
Jessica has been employed with Aventure Staffing’s Healthcare Division for years and has always been a pleasure to work with. 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, but especially for her. The obstacles she had to overcome would make most of us give up…but not this girl! She never gave up, she never surrendered and I think she’s an actual Wonder Woman! Jessica is loved at the facilities she staffs and the care she provides to the residents goes unmatched. When I think about her these words come to mind: integrity, fearlessness, kindness, compassion and empathy. I can’t help but feel so lucky to know Jessica and have her a part of my team. I couldn’t think of anyone better for the Healthcare Division’s 2020 Employee of the Year!

I am happy to be nominating William Loomis for Sheldon’s Employee of the Year! William is always an upbeat person and a very dependable, hard worker. After completing his temporary assignment for a client employer, they were so impressed with his work ethic that they requested him to come back. Now a permanent employee, William has also received their “Thumbs Up Award” for doing great work. No matter what the job was, William took his work very seriously and put forth his best effort. I have nothing but good things to say about William!
